A 2023 Nissan Rogue Sport drives down the road after being purchased in Stuart at Wallace Nissan.

2023 Nissan Rogue Sport Review, Pricing, and Specs

The Nissan Rogue Sport, which fits into the narrow niche between the wee Kicks and the Rogue, is the latest of the Japanese automaker’s models to receive an overhaul. While this compact crossover has a more whimsical name (Qashqai) in Europe, many things about it—including its sharp styling—should carry over to our market. One thing that won’t, though, is a hybrid powertrain. We anticipate U.S. models will feature a gasoline powered four-cylinder engine.

At least Nissan will offer buyers the option of front- or all-wheel drive. And to complement its new exterior, the Rogue Sport boasts a modernized cabin with updated infotainment tech. Expect to see the revamped crossover at dealerships sometime in 2022 as a 2023 model.

What’s New for 2022?

The Rogue Sport is due for a full redesign for 2022, with sharper styling and a more modern interior.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Nissan hasn’t released pricing or trim-level information for the 2022 model yet, but we expect to see the outgoing Rogue Sport’s S, SV, and SL trims renewed. Pricing should stay relatively flat as well, with the base model starting around $25,000. When we get more information, we’ll update this story.

2022 Nissan Rogue Sport Engine

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Although other markets will receive a hybridized model, the U.S. Rogue Sport will likely continue to use a gasoline-powered four-cylinder. We anticipate Nissan will pair this engine exclusively to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) but offer buyers the option of front- or all-wheel drive.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Space

The Rogue Sport’s new cabin looks thoroughly updated, with a more artfully shaped dashboard, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a tablet-style infotainment display. Photos of the Europe-market model are likely representative of the top-spec SL trim and feature quilted leather upholstery, stitched dash and door panels, and a digital gauge display.

Infotainment System inside the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Base models offer a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. The infotainment system’s software is uncomplicated, and its menu structure doesn’t follow conventional infotainment standards. Instead of a home menu on the touchscreen where users can make more specific choices, they must instead bounce from menu to menu using dedicated hard buttons that frame each side of the screen. It takes some getting used to at first, but the system eventually becomes easy to use while driving.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

What the Rogue Sport lacks in acceleration it makes up for in fuel economy, with front-wheel drive examples earning EPA ratings of 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. Unfortunately, its rivals are also parsimonious with fuel—even those that are outright quick such as the Kia Soul Exclaim. In our real-world highway fuel-economy testing, an all-wheel-drive Rogue Sport exceeded its 30-mpg EPA rating by 1 mpg, which is good even in this class of mini-SUVs. For more information about the Rogue Sport’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are all standard; Nissan offers more advanced driver assistance features on the Rogue Sport, but they require upgrading to the SV and ordering the Technology package or going all out and ordering a top-spec SL. For more information about the Rogue Sport’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:

  •  Standard automated emergency braking
  •  Available lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist
  •  Available adaptive cruise control with semi autonomous driving mode

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

The Rogue Sport’s warranty is standard fare for the class. Its coverage is, as with most of its rivals, upstaged by the Kia Soul and its 100,000-mile powertrain policy. The Chevrolet Trailblazer also stands out by offering the first dealer service visit for free.

  •  Limited warranty covers 3 years or 36,000 miles
  •  Powertrain warranty covers 5 years or 60,000 miles
  •  No complimentary scheduled maintenance

2022 Nissan Ariya parked out front Wallace Nissan dealership in Stuart, FL.

2022 Nissan Ariya Pricing, Review, and Specs

Nissan is expanding its line of electric vehicles with the 2022 Ariya SUV, which will go on sale in the U.S. in 2021. The Ariya will join the Leaf hatchback in the Nissan showroom and will offer up to 300 miles of driving range, which beats the Leaf’s maximum of 226. The Ariya’s design represents a shift from the current sharp, angular lines seen on many of Nissan’s vehicles.

The low, wide stance of the Ariya differentiates it from the Rogue and gives it a sportier look. Two different battery sizes will be offered—a 63.0-kWh battery is standard, and a larger 87.0-kWh pack is optional—as well as either front- or all-wheel drive. A host of driver-assistance features, infotainment tech, and convenience items will be included here, helping the 2022 Ariya compete with similarly sized EV crossovers, such as the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Driver view of the 2022 Nissan Ariya dashboard

What’s New for 2022?

The Ariya is an all-new vehicle for Nissan. It features Nissan’s new semi-autonomous driving system (ProPilot 2.0), which debuted on the Japanese-market Nissan Skyline sedan. The Ariya is said to deliver up to 300 miles of driving range, but only when equipped with the optional dual-front/rear-motor drive configuration and the larger 87.0-kWh battery pack.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Nissan hasn’t released pricing for the longer-range 87 kWh electric car model, but the base version with the smaller battery pack will start around $40,000. That puts it above the Leaf and other affordable EVs but under the base price of the Model Y. We’re of the mindset that to successfully switch from gasoline to electricity, range is key, and if our estimation on price is correct, the larger battery pack could be a great value.

Batter pack of the 2022 Nissan Ariya

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Unlike the Leaf, which comes only with front-wheel drive, Nissan is pulling from features developed in other cars, including the GT-R sports car’s torque-split system, to offer optional all-wheel drive via a dual-front/rear-electric-motor configuration with 221 lb ft of torque.

We estimate that the all-wheel-drive Ariya will zip from zero to 60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds, a feat that is similar to higher-end electric vehicles. The base front-wheel drive model will likely be slower, but we still expect it to offer peppy acceleration that’s a characteristic of EV powertrains with a single motor and dual motor.

A Stuart Florida driver plugs in charger port into 2022 Nissan Ariya

Range, Charging, and Battery Life

Nissan says the Ariya offers up to 300 miles of driving range per charge, and if that turns out to be true, it would be quite the step up from the Nissan Leaf’s maximum range of 226 miles. Similarly sized vehicles include Jaguar’s I-Pace and Audi’s E-Tron, which have 234 and 204 miles of long range, respectively. Key rivals from Tesla offer claimed ranges of over 300 miles of range.

The Ariya will be capable of charging at home on 110- or 240-volt outlets as well as at public charging stations and even DC fast-charging ports pretty amazing for a electric SUV.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

EPA fuel economy estimates aren’t yet available for the Ariya, nor has Nissan released any claimed MPGe figures. When the Ariya gets closer to launch, that information will likely be available. We also hope to test the Ariya ourselves on our 200-mile highway route, which allows us to evaluate its real-world efficiency. For more information about the Ariya’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

Side view of interior inside the all new 2022 Nissan Ariya

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Ariya’s interior looks futuristic and minimal. Nissan appears to have discarded every button possible in pursuit of a smooth dashboard that favors a sleek look to match the design of the exterior. Despite Nissan’s claim that the Ariya’s cabin is unlike a traditional automotive interior, its minimalistic theme appears to be its sole unique trait.

Not that the cabin doesn’t look like a nice place to spend time. A flat, low floor is said to increase the spacious feeling inside, and Nissan has incorporated its comfy zero-gravity seats into the design.

Infotainment System inside the 2022 Nissan Ariya

Infotainment and Connectivity

Nissan has also divulged details about the infotainment system and connectivity features, and it looks quite nice. Dual 12.3-inch displays serve as both the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment screen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and in-dash navigation should all be standard features.

The Ariya concept that was shown in 2019 had a feature that allowed the car to sync with the schedule of the driver, so it can pre-heat or pre-cool the interior while it’s parked and charging, and therefore not draw on the power from the battery.

The concept also showed off technology that would allow the driver to use their phone to park the Ariya automatically from a nearby location using ProPilot’s Remote Park, a system similar to Tesla’s Smart Summon feature. Nissan hasn’t said yet if these features will make it to the production model.

Nissan Ariya safety features

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The Ariya will feature ProPilot 2.0, Nissan’s second generation of the ProPilot semi-autonomous technology, as an optional feature. The system allows drivers to remove their hands from the wheel in certain driving scenarios. Although we haven’t tested this new setup, we liked the original ProPilot system when we used it in 2017—and if that’s any indication of how version 2.0 will perform, our expectations are high.

For more information about the Ariya’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:

  •  Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  •  Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
  •  Available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

We predict the Ariya will come with the same basic warranty package as the Leaf when it goes on sale. That warranty should include a competitive bumper-to-bumper policy as well as battery protection that stretches over eight years or 100,000 miles.

  •  Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  •  Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
  •  Battery warranty covers eight years or 100,000 miles
  •  No complimentary scheduled maintenance
2022 Nissan Pathfinder parked near Port St. Lucie, FL

2022 Nissan Pathfinder Review, Specs, and Pricing

Like many of today’s three-row SUVs, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder aims to be a replacement for a minivan, but with a rugged appearance and a bit of towing and off-road capability. To that end, the Pathfinder receives a comprehensive redesign for the 2022 model year, which Nissan is hoping will put its three-row mid-size SUV in contention with segment leaders such as the Hyundai Palisade, the Kia Telluride, and the Toyota Highlander.

A V-6 engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic; front-wheel drive is standard but buyers who plan to venture off-road will want the optional all-wheel drive system. The cabin features room for seven or eight passengers across three rows, and Nissan offers a host of standard driver-assistance and infotainment features—with even more advanced tech available as options.

Drivers view of front dashboard inside the new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder.

What’s New for 2022?

Completely new for 2022, the Pathfinder sheds the frumpy design of the 2020 model in favor of a rugged and modern look. Expect to see the new Pathfinder in Nissan dealerships in summer 2021.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Nissan hasn’t provided a comprehensive breakdown of each of the Pathfinder’s trim levels and standard features yet, but based on the outgoing model’s trim offerings it looks as though the mid-range SV will be the best value of the bunch. Stepping up from the base S should add heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, SiriusXM satellite radio, and adaptive cruise control with Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving mode. An optional SV Premium package will also be offered, but Nissan hasn’t yet said what will be included in that package or disclosed its price. We’ll update this story with details once we learn more.

2022 Nissan Pathfinder V-6 Engine

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

While the 2022 Pathfinder retains the 284-hp 3.5-liter V-6 from the previous generation model, it drops the continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT) in favor of a new nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard but all trims can be equipped with all-wheel drive. Upgrading to the all-wheel drive system also adds a set of seven drive modes, including off-road focused Sand and Mud/Rut modes. Maximum towing capacity is 6000 pounds. We haven’t had a chance to test drive the new Pathfinder yet, but when we do we’ll update this story with test results and driving impressions.

A view of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Drive Mode Settings

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The EPA hasn’t released the 2022 Pathfinder’s fuel economy estimates yet, nor has Nissan mentioned any projections. Given that the Pathfinder is powered by the same V-6 engine as in 2020, we aren’t expecting much to change. When we get a chance to test drive the Pathfinder, we’ll take it on our 75-mph highway fuel economy test and report our findings here. For more information about the Pathfinder’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

Looking forward from the rear seats inside the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder in Port St. Lucie, FL

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

It’s inside where the 2022 Pathfinder takes its biggest leap forward over the outgoing 2020 model. A far more modern and truck-like interior design replaces the dated styling of the last generation. The Pathfinder remains a three-row SUV but buyers can now choose to swap the standard second-row bench seat for captain’s chairs a desirable feature in a family crossover.

Nissan has integrated more storage cubbies this time around, including a large bin below the center console that’s accessible by the driver or front-seat passenger. Upper trim levels come appropriately decked out with luxuries such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

All new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Infotainment System features

Infotainment and Connectivity

An 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard and runs the latest version of the NissanConnect software interface. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard and the former can be synced wirelessly on upper trims. A 12.3-inch digital gauge display, an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless smartphone charging pad, SiriusXM satellite radio, a head-up display, and an in-dash navigation system are all optional features. Nissan hasn’t said what the Pathfinder’s standard stereo will be yet—we’re guessing a fairly basic six- or eight-speaker arrangement—but a 13-speaker Bose system will be available.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

All Pathfinders come with a host of driver assistance features as standard, including automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high-beam headlamps. A semi-autonomous driving mode that Nissan calls ProPilot Assist is standard on SV, SL, and Platinum trims. For more information about the Pathfinder’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:

  •  Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  •  Standard blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning
  •  Available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Nissan’s warranty coverage provides nothing remarkable, especially when compared with Hyundai and Kia’s famously long warranties of 10 years or 100,000 miles.

  •  Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  •  Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
  •  No complimentary scheduled maintenance

2022 Nissan Frontier for sale near Stuart, FL

2022 Nissan Frontier Review, Pricing, and Specs

We’ve been waiting for a new Nissan Frontier for years, and our patience will finally pay off when the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier model is unveiled either later this month or early in 2021. We’ve confirmed that the new powertrain fitted to the outgoing version will power the upcoming mid-sizer. Just recently, we saw a glimpse of a heavily camouflaged prototype undergoing manufacture testing. Now it’s just a matter of time before Nissan officially pulls the cover off. In the meantime, you can save huge right now by picking up the 2020 Nissan Frontier from Wallace Nissan of Stuart, FL your local Nissan dealer.

What’s New for 2022?

The design changes outside are no secret given the latest reveal of the fully updated truck. It seems that hard workers get full LED headlights and reworked backlights with some LED elements. The back door will use the letter “Frontier” to appear and we can also assume there will be some changes in it.

Although there isn’t much information out just yet on the 2022 Nissan Frontier we’ve decided to show you the official release video from Nissan. We will update this page as more information becomes available on the 2022 Frontier truck.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Nissan hasn’t said how much the new Frontier will cost or what trim levels will be offered, so we can only speculate on its base price, which should be slightly more than the truck’s current starting price of $27,885.

2022 Nissan Frontier Engine Specifications

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The next-gen Frontier will inherit Nissan’s new naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V-6, which just debuted on the current model. The engine generates 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear- or four-wheel drive. While the 2020 Frontier Pro-4X we tested with the new powertrain didn’t show a marked improvement in performance over the engine-and-transmission it replaced, we’ll have to wait until we have an opportunity to drive the new Frontier before we can evaluate its performance and driving manners.

We expect the 2022 Nissan Frontier will utilize a new V6 engine capable of producing 300 horsepower to be piped to the wheel via a seven-speed automatic transmission. Frontier’s next generation won’t be entirely new, as it will still share the platform as well with the Navara currently on the market. Nissan also seems to be refreshing the F-Alpha platform.

Towing and Payload Capacity

Since the current-generation Frontier has a max towing capacity of 6720 pounds and a max payload rating of 1450 pounds, we expect the forthcoming version to meet or exceed those figures.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

Neither the EPA nor Nissan have announced fuel-economy estimates for the 2022 Frontier. Since we know it’ll have the same V-6 powertrain that motivates the current generation, there’s a good chance that the new one has similar government rating. That suggests it’ll earn up to 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. We’ll have to wait for the official figures to be released and for our chance to test the new Frontier on our 75-mph highway route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen, before we can evaluate its real-world mpg. For more information about the Frontier’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

2022 Nissan Frontier Infotainment & Connectivity

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

There’s not much we know about the interior of the forthcoming Frontier. What’s for sure is that its design and material quality can only be an improvement over the outdated and plastic-laden cabin that the current generation hosts. The list of available features is expected to expand, too, since you can’t even get a heated steering wheel on the current version. Based on spy photos, we do know that the next Frontier will continue to be offered with an extended cab. A crew-cab model is also virtually a lock considering it’s typically the most popular pickup-truck configuration. Both body styles suggest that a short and long cargo bed should also be on the roster.

We expect frontier cabins to take a big leap. Basically, the interior of the Nissan Frontier 2022 takes the base from the previous generation, so there will be no major difference between the two. Most only small details typical of Nissan are differentiating. Nissan Frontier 2022 uses the same dashboard layout as the previous generation, this is not a bad thing because the driver-oriented layout used increases Nissan’s typical driving impression.

Infotainment and Connectivity

In order for the Frontier to challenge the rest of its mid-size rivals on the infotainment front, it’s going to need to offer a larger touchscreen and more standard features than the current generation. We expect the screen to measure at least 8.0 inches and the system to be available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We wouldn’t be surprised if a more powerful stereo, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless charging were offered, too. After all, all of these features can be found on the full-size Nissan Titan.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

While the current-generation Frontier is totally devoid of driver-assistance technology, we expect Nissan to address that on the new truck. For more information about the Frontier’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features will likely include:

  •  Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
  •  Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  •  Available adaptive cruise control

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Nissan offers competitive limited and powertrain warranties compared with other mid-size pickup trucks. However, almost every competitor—apart from the Honda Ridgeline—also includes some type of complimentary scheduled maintenance.

  •  Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  •  Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
  •  No complimentary scheduled maintenance
